Monday at Work
Today I went to work at The Goodwill Society in Darlinghurst where some crazy things happened.
1.- a truck hits a guy on William St. so the street was closed most part of the morning. Horrible.
2.- an egg falls from the window of some flat three floors up and crashes next to a costumer's glass of fresh OJ -luckily not in her head-.
3.- a crazy guy tried to stole a spoon from the girls drinking coconut water -he told them he needed it for his medication, ejem, drugs, ejem-.
Yeah, a crazy day right?

Workshops in Sydney
I worked as a Designer in front of a computer for two years and that led me to feel the need of learning and doing new creative things outside the office.

Blue Mountains
One of the things most of you told me to do while living in Sydney was to visit the Blue Mountains.
As I am a fan of nature and mountains, the name of this place was so attractive to me and I couldn't wait to have time to visit.

Manly Wine
For my boyfriend's birthday I wanted to do something special. He had the idea of spending all Sunday on Manly and I wanted to take him to a fancy restaurant where we could have a nice lunch and drinks.
As we where going on a sunny Sunday I decided to make a reservation the day before to avoid waiting in the bar and to ensure a table at the terrace.
Manly Wine suited perfectly for the occasion. Great menu, amazing ocean and beach view, fancy drinks and cool music.

We got there at 2pm and had drinks, a glass of Sauv Blanc for me and a Dolores&Pedro -the closest to a Pisco Sour- for him. As an entrée we ordered a Scallop ceviche, chilli, coriander, lime, wasabi -almost no spicy in this, so if you don't eat spicy you'll do fine-.
We had Drunken pork chop, apple slaw, vinegar potatoes, pork crackle and Black Angus “Reserve” 250gm sirloin with Charred brocollini, chilli, preserved lemon on a side. Everything was delicious!
When I got back from the restroom Antonio tells me that the sommelier came to our table asking if I liked brownies as a birthday surprise. So he let her think it was my birthday and I had to act surprised when she came with the delicious dessert -of course my face turned red haha-.
We stayed there for a little while longer, enjoying the view. Then we went down to the beach and walked towards Shelly Beach and through the streets to get to the other side near the Manly Wharf to take the 5pm ferry back to Circular Quay.
The day was perfect and we had a great time.

Camp Cove Beach
Spring has arrived in Sydney and it's high temperatures make me run to the beach whenever I can. I arrived to Sydney on winter and now I can see the city's true colors, people jogging till late hours, everyone's feeling a bit happier and flowers in every corner. Camp Cove beach is certainly my happy place to go sunbathing and swimming, people get there early in the morning and days are getting longer, so you can stay till late 6pm.

As you may have noticed, I'm a huge fan of instagram. For me it's a brilliant platform to share and discover things.
Over the 1.062 profiles I follow I find daily inspiration about food, flowers, fashion and crafts -don't get me wrong, I also follow my family and friends-.

SYDNEY NOODLE MARKETS 2014 |
After this post you'll be drooling and hungry.
If you want to continue reading you should go find some Tim Tams or whatever kind of cookie you like, because reading about food hungry is the worst thing I can do.
"The Night Noodle Markets is the landmark Good Food Month event and has been since its inception in 1998. In 2013 over 200,000 guests came to Hyde Park to soak up the authentic Asian hawker market atmosphere."

Today I've been listening to this album and I think many of you would like it.
It's perfect for relaxing and drawing a little bit or just have a cup of coffee with the light of the afternoon coming through the window.

Drawing & listening to music
I've always liked to draw.
In school my favorite subject was art and the best part on the first day was to draw my summer vacations with my brand new color pencil case.
During my time at uni I didn't have much time to draw and when I started my job I could draw but things related to it, not things that really came out of my imagination.

Long distance friendship
Right now most of my friends are in living in Chile, a few here in Australia and one of my best in London and maintaining a fluent communication within the different time zones can be difficult.
Whenever we find the right time to talk I use skype, viber or whatsapp voice messages because I really enjoy a fluent conversation and try to avoid texting back and forth.
I have this specific group of friends from previous job in Chile. we are three, one living in Santiago, the other in London and me in Sydney and I came up with this time zone solution.

(Late) Morning Run & Exercise
I'm a really visual person an I have the most active and graphic imagination.
I've always tried to exercise, if I don't feel my heart rate raising for a long time I can feel it turning in to a rock. Heart muscles atrophying slowly till they turn in to a rock.

Independence Day

Today my country is celebrating and here in Sydney is a day like any day.
The most memorable Independence day for me was with my family in my parents lake house when I was about 7 or 8 years old. It was raining cats and dogs, like if you opened the shower and we had to move all the celebration from the terrace to the garage where it was dry. We stayed there all day hanging flags, moving tables and preparing the food for our guests. When they arrived we had the greatest time laughing, playing games, eating delicious food and dancing 'cueca' our chilean traditional dance.

Looking for a Job

Looking for a job -and getting hired- in Sydney with the Work and Holiday visa is not as easy as you imagine it was going to be.
I came here thinking that it was a piece of cake. That I would have a job by the first or second week and that I would work from 8 to 4-5 and go to the beach all afternoon. Well it's a bit far from that.

Missing Coffee
Work and Holiday -Sydney tips-
So I came to Sydney to find love -and I found it, thanks for your worries ;)- and also to work because after three months in Europe I have a little left -$$$- to settle anywhere.
In Chile nowadays is very popular for people who just finished their degree on whatever to come to Australia -or New Zealand in some cases- to work and travel. For the ones that geography wasn't their favorite subject at school, it's near India and the southeastern part of Asia.

First Things First
Hi there, I've been reuniting the strength to start writing this blog. More than a blog I want it to be a diary because this year it's been a real surprise. I really don't know the difference between a blog and a diary but they seem the same to me.
2014 started with a break up, a job quitting, a family vacation, a nervous breakdown, a trip to Europe, traveling to Sydney to find love and now settling in this continent for a few months before I go back to Chile for my sister's wedding.
Gosh! Now that I write about it I can see it's really been a big big big year of changes.
So what I want this blog diary to be is an everyday -if I have time- escape for my thoughts and creativity. I will write, I will show pictures and I will draw to make this a pretty experience and maybe you can relate to the things I write, the pictures or even the drawings I make.
Welcome to all and feel free to comment, ask, laugh, cry and whatever you want to do but spread bad vibes.
